Your plants need to adapt and must be gradually introduced to changes of environment. Put them in the sun for no more than two hours during the first day. Over the course of a week, increase the time outside slowly. After one week, the plants should be fine staying outside.
The handles on your tools can double as clever rulers. Lay the handles onto the floor and place a tape beside them. Label the distances onto them using a permanent marker.
Plant some perennials that are resistant to slug and snail infestations. Slugs and snails can destroy a plant very quickly. These pests are particularly fond of young perennials and those varieties with leaves that are tender, herbaceous stems and leaves, particularly seedlings and young plants. Some perennials are not preferred meals for snails and slugs, however, leave a bad taste in slugs’ mouths or are difficult to chew through because their leaves aren’t tender. Some of the best varieties of these include achillea, helleborus, euphorbia, and heuchera.
You don’t need expensive chemicals to treat powdery mildew in your garden. Mix a bit of liquid soap and baking soda in water.Spray the mixture on the plants once every seven days or until you no longer see the mildew. This mixture will not hurt your plants and the mildew will go away slowly.
Plants require a good amount of CO2 grow well. Plants will not thrive in environments where high levels of CO2 are present. The best way to get a high level of it is through a greenhouse.
Get gardening knee pads if you find yourself kneeling on the ground a lot to do your gardening. Having a good pair of knee pads for horticulture can help cushion your knees in comfort.
You can keep pests away from your garden by using other plants and natural materials. Slugs can be kept at bay with either onions or pungent vegetables. These are methods remove the need to use pesticides.
